Originals inspired by the Cornish coast
The sea has always been part of my story. From growing up in Cornwall to returning there each month to paint, the coast remains my greatest source of energy and inspiration. These works capture fleeting moments of light, tide, and atmosphere - every piece a small window into the ocean’s rhythm.
Seascape Collection
Each Seascape begins on location - with sketches, photos, and time spent watching the tide shift. Back in the studio, I translate those impressions into layered acrylic paintings. The brushwork, textures, and colours are my way of capturing the movement and energy of the sea, turning those moments into lasting artworks.
These seascapes are primarily created using a palette knife rather than a brush, layering thick acrylics in overlapping strokes to build movement and depth. The technique mirrors the sea itself - waves colliding, colours blending, light shifting across the surface. Each layer adds energy, until the painting feels alive with the same rhythm as the coast it was inspired by
